The Year of Harvest, The Gift of Lands
Acts 26:8... When we have entrance into God's word, it will not be incredible to us that God can do great things in us.
To us, it is not incredible that God can raise the dead.
Luke 19:11-27
Matthew 25:14
Minas is about 3 months salary of a man.
1 kings 4:1- (7-13) (27)…The king gave the officials land and regions so they could function.
Imagine someone giving you the whole of Ibadan and only demands monthly portions of food in return. You would likely mock such person as foolish as lands would often yield much more than food.
Deuteronomy 8:3-11- We see how much a land can yield.
It took a lot of faithfulness for Solomon’s men to have the lands yet remained committed to the one who gave them the lands. It poses a great challenge to remain faithful in the management of the resources that God gives as we always have hidden agenda.
When you give people talents you can micro manage them but you can only trust when you give people cities. It is a level of investment that can only be contracted on the basis of trust.
You are going to get to a point where God lets you make decisions. The cities and the talents are both gifts given based on the same principles.
Gen 26;
Eccle 5:9
It is a mystery that God gives so much but expects so little, yet it becomes so difficult to give back the little that he demands.
God is seeking people to put over cities and regions for what he wants to do with those places. We should be a people faithful enough to give back the little that God demands from the great He puts in our hands.
In 2020, God will make requirements of you but it is not robbery because God won’t ask you of something He has yet to give. God will give but when He does will you yield?
The problem we have in Church is that it has become so difficult to do the little God requires of us thereby hindering us from greater influences that God wants to give us.
Daniel 6:1-3 The reason God gives talents is also the reason He gives cites – that He will not suffer loss. It is just that the one who is given cities is seen with a greater level of faithfulness. If you become the one man set over a vast land, will you still be as faithful even with the great level of authority that has been invested.
It takes a stronger level of focus to keep the same mission as the person with talent when you have been given cities.
Gen 41:33-49… Pharaoh invested in Joseph the highest authority in the land just so that Joseph could gather grain. Any other person could have been carried away by the authority but then forget the assignment. Joseph had all the authority of Pharaoh but he didn’t become Pharaoh. When God gives you immeasurable and unbelievable power in His name, will you not forget that you are not God? There are powers given men by God but it takes a lot of focus to use such powers in to the glory of God.
God can give us our cities but we must raise a new heartbeat for the counsel of God.
God can give us creative wisdom that can break societal limitations.
Gen 47:13 – 26,
They gave Joseph everything but it did not occur to him to over the land.
We are going to enjoy a greater portion for every opportunity God gives us. However, the challenge is with being faithful enough to give the one-fifth back to God.
Ezra 4:11-16… The only way what God puts in your hand will serve God’s purpose is SUBMISSION.
Nehemiah 6:7-8
We need grace to give what is required which is but a little fraction of what is given.
2 Samuel 9:1-10
